Lets Vote!!

What's better or What's bitter??
Working in a good company under a bad boss or Working in a bad company with a good boss.

This has been a question which I think have plagued all professionals at one point or the other during their tenure at any particular gig.
GE's Jack Welch think its always prudent to work for a good company with a bad boss as the company by virtue of being good will weed out the bad boss....well is it always true in the corporate world??

Waiting for the replies.....

Good and bad are the two absolutely relative words and it is your perception to look at things which does matter. Corporate world has got the mixture of both.I have read Jack's statement earlier. But so farI understood, what Jack has meant if we call a company good, that means the company on its natural course of action will be able to move out the bad elements. Now a good company means company with some good policies implemented with time by some good people on board. Bad company means that still waiting some good people to board the flight and make your journey a memorable one. Now to answer your question a company with some fantastic policies and a few bad managers is definitely better option to work with. Beacuse in course of time i have seen ppl changes and for that you have to drive things. If you are ready to take the challenge to make a good food, no company is that bad to you and so enter the kitchen or else enjoy the readymade foods from some good shop.

Well i think workin under the right people is a better option as far as I can see. It is the people who make the organisation a better place , and if your boss understands the value of each employee well I wonder how u call that a bad company. Policies look good on paper unless implemented. And believe me it doesnt take a Rocket Science to formulate a good policy . Simple is beautiful and that is what it takes to make a good one. You know the people around you and thats all it takes. A company with all the good policies in the books is like the England football team which is full of star players that you dont know whom to play in the Center Forward, Gerrard or Lampard.I am sure people would prefer a better pilot than a better plane..... :)
